What happened? How can this time 'round the sun be different? We say keep your goals, keep your resolutions, and your sense of determination, but change your habits because:
CHANGING YOUR HABITS =

Hey! I'm TJ Walsh, an artist and artist-coach, and I've been exactly where you are right now.
I know what it's like to be a creative person who is stuck and afraid to step out into the world and let others know what I'm really about. I know what it's like to feel like I'm not as good as others around me and decide that I should just take a back seat in the creative action.
I also know what it's like to have support, guidance, and acceptance from other artists, makers, and creators. I'm here to be that support guide and encourager for you.
I'm an internationally exhibited artist who has nurtured creativity in hearts and minds for decades. I received my BFA in graphic design and MA in clinical counseling psychology. I regularly write and speak about art, culture, faith & mental health and I'm an expert in human relationships, human creativity, the creative process, fear, and procrastination.
Over the past 20 years, I've worked at the colorful intersection of creativity, art, therapy, and education. I'm an innovative out-of-the-box artist, creative clinician and coach (Clini-Coach®) and nurture your creative life so that you can be the powerhouse of an artist AND human you are created to be.
Before becoming a therapist and coach, I spent more than a decade working as a designer, art and creative director, and fundraising professional. I currently live in Philadelphia, PA with my partner and two sons, a dog and cat, and 65 houseplants, as well as a very robust and growing collection of artwork from emerging and rising artists.
Hello! My name is Charlie. I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 7, my family moved to the US and I fell in love with painting.
I attended weekend and summer courses with merit scholarships at Moore College of Art and Design and graduated early from high school. I received my BFA from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. At 21, I received an invitation to attend Concordia University in Montreal, Canada through a fully-funded faculty fellowship. I received my MFA in Studio Arts in 2014. I have a background in teaching, mentoring, and working in Haute Couture fashion design as a Master Clutch Artisan. My work has been exhibited throughout the UK, Canada, and the USA. I have been featured in multiple media outlets and publications as an artist, curator, and writer, including Create Magazine, Alien Literary Magazine, and NPR Radio/WHYY.
In 2021, I left fashion and returned to working full-time as a contemporary painter and educator. I have a passion for mentoring neurodivergent artists and artists living with disabilities. As a trans curator and disabled community arts leader, it is my mission to help disabled and neurodivergent artists access the necessary tools to develop a unique mindset that will allow them to return home to their studios and continue building their careers. I believe that transformative, dark and adverse experiences can become our greatest gifts in the studio. My website will soon be expanded to include group workshops, 1:1 appointment scheduling, and other offerings for any artist looking for a mentor to walk alongside them in their quest for creativity. I bring a deep history of lived experience, education, and compassion to my students and in the studio. I look forward to working together!
TJ provided a very inspiring and safe space in which to explore all aspects of the creative process and to tease apart what keeps us stuck and timid as creative people.
Charlie helped me find some clarity about the work I make and then refined those thoughts into something cohesive that I can use in my professional practice.
This workshop was a fantastic opportunity to really think about what I needed to do to get myself moving again. TJ provided a welcoming, safe space to explore what's going on with my art and why it's not moving. The small group environment was just the right size to help me learn from others, and share my own issues without being overwhelmed. Talking with others about my blocks seems to be a powerful part of the solution. I would recommend this experience!
TJ is so incredibly supportive and really knowledgeable about the inner work we need to do to shift from where we are to where we want to be!
With ADHD and just general low self-esteem, I've had a hard time telling my story and choosing which medium to tell it with (creative writing, photography, or performance).
I am so excited to set my vision by giving a ROLE to all the parts that make it possible: my story, my values, and even my fears.
I'm feeling more excited about tackling my next big project! Its still in its bare bone stages but a lot of this introspection is also helping to shape what this next film will be. I've been thinking about it so externally I forgot I could put myself and my values more into it.
Forget golden nuggets, all of TJ's programs drip pure gold. After working with TJ and attending his events, I walked away feeling validated and empowered to keep showing up and doing my work.
Given the quality of experiences I've had in programs and interactions with TJ, I knew this event would be a worthy investment of my resources and on the other side of it, I am so grateful that I made this commitment.
TJ is passionate about helping people discover and understand their potential and his commitment to this is obvious in his meticulous planning, production, and execution of a very informative and well-received workshop event.
